I've added the extra repository to pacman by manually adding the following line into __pacman.conf__ **Include = /etc/pacman.d/extra-current** Once done, the ftp5.frugalware.org seems to be useless for that, because there is no extra subdirectory. But there is one in ftp10 so I've commented the **Server=ftp://ftp5...** line in the extra-current repository file. Then I finally could try to install my webcam (that worked with a previous version of frugalware) by running **# pacman -S spca5xx** But pacman answers that : **spca5xx: needs kernel=2.6.17-3** In the past, I had to confirm a question of pacman that told me that spca5xx needs to be removed, for the same reason... How can I manage this problem, or is it unsolved yet ? (Or is that a problem due to the fact that I've changed the configuration). Thanks for your distro ! Task Type - Bug Report Category - Graphical applications Status - Unconfirmed Assigned To - Operating System - x86_64 Severity - Medium Priority - Normal Reported Version - -current Due in Version - Due Date - Undecided Details - After upgrading to 2.0.0beta3.1-2, gaim won't connect with MSN (and probably any other protocols that require TLS) with the following message: //(MSN) was disconnected due to an error: SSL support is needed for MSN. Please install a supported SSL library. See http://gaim.sf.net/faq-ssl.php for more information. Gaim will not attempt to reconnect the account until you correct the error and re-enable the account.// The relative output when run with -d is: //plugins: /usr/lib/gaim/ssl-gnutls.so is unloadable: libgnutls.so.14: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory// gnutls installed package is the latest available for x86_64-current, v1.5.2-1. Sym-linking libgnutls.so.14 to libgnutls.so.13 fixes the problem, as makepkging gaim from fst and using that pkg (which is probably more correct). I have just updated the system and evolution does not work properly. One of the bugs is quite usual, the gnutls version in "current" provides libgnutls.so.13 while evolution seeks for libgnutls.so.14. This causes calendar, memos and tasks not to appear. Surely if you build evolution with that libs someone will upload the newer version of gnutls also. The other bug seems quite mystic to me. I cant change mailbox settings. If I do so the OK button becomes non-clickable. So the only way to close the dialog box is to cancel. I recently installed Frugalware 0.5 on my system. But, i couldn't get the display working. The display just freezes when GDM starts and nothing happens. I cant even do Ctrl+Alt+F1 to get to the console. However i somehow managed to get the console, and one of the devs said that the problem was with the via driver. Theres a temporary workaround to fix this problem, just change the Driver to "vesa" in your xorg.conf More information can be found at the following URL: http://bugs.frugalware.org/task/1302 You are receiving this message because you have requested it from the Flyspray bugtracking system. After asking for the PIN and the phone sends the correct PIN, the connection is failed becuase of invalid PIN. I'm using kbluepin and the PIN code is set in /etc/bluetooth/pin file. The messages in syslog: hcid[32355]: call_passkey_agent(): no agent registered So there aren't any passkey-agent on my system. I think I found the reason on the web. The installed bluez-utils doesn't contain the passkey-agent binary, however its source is in the bluez-utils source tree. I found this tip on the following site: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-bluetooth-maintainers/2006-July/000388.html So the binary bluez-utils package should contain the passkey-agent binary as well and it should be started when PIN code request started. It worked perfectly against GAIM beta4 found in current . You can find details about the patch here: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1549430&group_id=235&atid=300235 I don't know why the folks at GAIM don't apply it , I'll bug them about it but it's otherwise harmless and it works. It's very frustrating when the Windows people can't send you a file. Also applied another patch to stop GAIM from reporting the transfer failed even though it didn't. You can find the details here: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1151066&group_id=235&atid=300235 Both patches are included in the attached file. Please consider them and if possible accept the patch. I'll take care of it personaly if there's a new GAIM version. After commented stable and uncommented current in /etc/pacman.conf, I launched **pacman -Syu**. After typing 20 times Y for replace some packages (mostly Xfce, dbus, ...) pacman ended quickly with broken dependences. After **pacman -R madwifi-ng**, pacman downloaded all new packages cca 800 MB, but ended with broken dependeces during checking consistence of packages. I had to **pacman -R quota-tools** (it said: quotactl.2.gz exists in filesystem), than **pacman -Syu** ended successfully. BTW: xorg.conf is lightly disordered (tabs, blanks). Steve Tomljenovic [stomljen at yahoo dot com] 915resolution is a tool to modify the video BIOS of the 800 and 900 series Intel graphics chipsets. This includes the 845G, 855G, and 865G chipsets, as well as 915G, 915GM, and 945G chipsets. This modification is neccessary to allow the display of certain graphics resolutions for an Xorg or XFree86 graphics server. 915resolution's modifications of the BIOS are transient. There is no risk of permanent modification of the BIOS. This also means that 915resolution must be run every time the computer boots inorder for it's changes to take effect. 915resolution is derived from the tool 855resolution. However, the code differs substantially. 915resolution's code base is much simpler. 915resolution also allows the modification of bits per pixel. 915resolution has been reported to work with the following systems. It should, however, work with any system with an Intel 800 or 900 series graphics chipset.
