Unable to install Frugalware 0.7 (i686) from two-cd set: installer segfaults in various places
I've obtained Frugalware 0.7 cd 1 and 2 from ftp5.frugalware.org (skimmed through various bug reports here I thought this is worth mentioning exact mirror I've used). All the SHA1 sums were ok, but I'm unable to install the system, at least in VirtualBox 1.5.2 running on Windows XP Pro host (has no other testbeds available in the moment, configuration follows): installer segfault somewhere after selecting packages (i.e. in 'install' plugin, as far as I can judge). I've got several segfaults before or in course of selecting package list (expert mode) and one time - after changing CDs. Log in target partition is okay (setup.c:140: started plugin:install is the last entry), but vt4 reveals it's double-free bug somewhere in -setup code:
*** glibc detected *** -setup: double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x085a4d88
VirtualBox configuration is as follows:
Base memory: 384 MB (tried various vaules)
Video memory: 8 MB
IO APIC: No
HDD: 4.0 GB, /dev/sda1: 512 MB swap, the rest is /dev/sda2 ext3 filesystem.
Audio: Windows direct sound
Network: eth0: NAT
