Tomcat implements the Java Servlet and the JavaServer Pages (JSP) specifications from Sun Microsystems, and provides a "pure Java" HTTP web server environment for Java code to run. Tomcat should not be confused with the Apache web server, which is a C implementation of a HTTP web server; these two HTTP web servers are not bundled together. Apache Tomcat includes tools for configuration and management, but can also be configured by editing configuration files that are normally XML-formatted. http://tomcat.apache.org/download-60.cgi More information can be found at the following URL: http://bugs.frugalware.org/task/3394 You are receiving this message because you have requested it from the Flyspray bugtracking system. If I put an audio CD in my drive under KDE, a pop-up window appears, but KDE recognizes the CD as empty CD and offers to burn data on it. I've tried it with several original audio CD-s and as a newly created user with untouched ~/.kde directory. Every time I experienced the same. Data CDs are recognized correctly. Here is my proposal: /etc/rc.d/rc.keymap: msg $"Loading keyboard map \n" # followed by 'Loading /usr/share/keymaps/blah blah' /etc/rc.d/rc.mount: msg $"Checking non-root filesystems \n" # followed by '/dev/sdN: clean, blah blah' /etc/rc.d/rc.reboot: msg $"Rebooting the system \n" # followed by 'Restarting system' I think this simple method is not the most elegant way of dealing with these messages. In my opinion, it would be the best if the whole 'normal' output of the executed commands could be swallowed, and only in the case of an unexpected retval should the output appear. There may be several other rc scripts requiring this change. For example, rc.privoxy in the current version floods the screen during startup and the creation of its temporary file structure. Maybe this request is a bit annoying, but I think finally the whole boot progress will look more 'polished'. If I will have some time later, I will check how other distros do this. regards & thanks LGee More information can be found at the following URL: http://bugs.frugalware.org/task/3425 You are receiving this message because you have requested it from the Flyspray bugtracking system. I can open all other spreadsheets except this one and another which is the first worksheet of the previous one. Unfortunately, the nature of the data does not allow me to attach the file. I must use .xls as the corporate standard is MS Office. Is there any way to debug it in deeper detail? [10/27/08 10:30] upgraded j2re (6-10 -> 6-11) [10/27/08 10:30] upgraded j2sdk (6-10 -> 6-11) .... [10/27/08 10:32] upgraded openoffice.org (2.4.1-1 -> 3.0-2) .... The word "coult" should actually read "could" - i.e. a "d" instead of a "t". I believe this is actually pacman-g2's fault, since this same spelling mistake appears there, but I'm reporting it against gfpm as I can't confirm the source of the spelling error. User who did this - Russell Dickenson (phayz) Attached to Project - Frugalware Summary - 0.9 installer doesn't handle passwords with special characters Task Type - Bug Report Category - Installer Status - Unconfirmed Assigned To - Operating System - i686 Severity - Low Priority - Normal Reported Version - 0.9 Due in Version - Undecided Due Date - Undecided Details - During the installation of 0.9 I'm told that the root account doesn't yet have a password associated with it and asked if I want to enter one. I say "Yes" and enter the password twice. I'm again told that the root account doesn't yet have a password and asked if I want to enter one. Thinking I've made an error in typing the password the first 2 times, I again say "Yes" and enter the password twice. The same message appears and, convinced that this is an infinite loop, I say "No" the next time and the installation continues beyond this point. Once 0.9 is installed I log in and enter the same password for the root account and it's happily accepted. I have actually had this error message in 0.7 and 0.8 I believe but never got around to reporting it. It was one of those cases where I *thought* I'd reported it, but hadn't. :( Anyway, being a little wiser and expecting this problem to occur with a fresh installation of 0.9, I switched to the installer's live log to see if there might be error messages there telling me why this problem was happening. Thankfully there were! For the same of the logs below, assume that the password I tried to use is xx&YYY The log shows - util.c:330: running external command: 'echo root:xx&YYY | chroot ./ /usr/sbin/chpasswd' util.c:343:> root:xx util.c:347: external command returned with exit code '0' In case I've not made it clear above, attempts to set a password of this type fail during the installer, and the root account's password remains blank. >From what I see in the logs, it appears that the shell command that's being used to output the password is failing because of the ampersand '&'. This is, of course, a special character and the command actually run is something like "echo root:xx". Line 347 reports an exit code of '0' which I guess means "No error occurred". Again, if I understand correctly, no error occurred because the shell command ran successfully - i.e. the text "root:xx" was output succesfully. When prompted by the installer, I create a "normal" user account, and enter the password twice. The installer seemingly creates the account and continues. When I login using the "normal" user account, the password specified is not accepted. Instead a blank password is accepted. As I did for BTS#3433 I viewed the installer's live log at the point of entering a password and this is what was shown - Assume the password I was trying to use was xx&YYY. util.c:330 running external command: 'yes' """|chroot ./ /usr/sbin/adduser normaluser "Normal user" xx&YYY util.c:343 sh: YYY: not found As per BTS#3433 I believe the ampersand '&' character is interfering with the command which is to create the account and set its password. The Ethernet interface works but not the Wi-Fi interface which is not detected. So, can you make a package of the driver for the Wi-Fi card, please ? I know, I am a developer too but my knowledges about kernel/driver Linux is very... poor and I do not want to take risks. My laptop is a Packard Bell EasyNote SL81 and the drivers used by the Wi-Fi interface seems to be the RT2790. Here is the Ralink support page : http://www.ralinktech.com/ralink/Home/Support/Linux.html I am sorry to be "bad" but, under Mandriva, it works good with that drivers. (I need Mandriva for school, sorry :-s) And I would be able to use Wi-Fi with Frugalware on this laptop. :-) I hope it is not impossible and I am not doing something bad to write this request :-s Thank you very much in all case to take the time to read this request :-) gholafox More information can be found at the following URL: http://bugs.frugalware.org/task/3435 You are receiving this message because you have requested it from the Flyspray bugtracking system.
