When installing Frugalware from the start, and choose 'Swedish' as langugage, it doesnt set the correct console keymap. It sets "sv-latin1.map.gz". While this seems to work, it shows " ??? " correctly, when written on console and such, however, It doesnt work in gnome-terminal or guake (just to mention a few).. Instead, it showed as (?) (sort of) similar to when utf8 is not supported. While I was hammering my head, trying to figure out what could be wrong, i tought of, that X when using 'sv' as language, works, but doesnt allow vt switching (ctrl+alt+F1) or so.. Changing that, to 'se' solves that problem (infact, 'sv' is not a supported language i have discovered by furter investigation).. This made me look at what keymap i was using for console.. And there was sv-latin1 by default (not changed by me). I looked around, and changed it read 'se-lat6' instead.. Rebooted and all is well :) My ??? now finally works not only in pure cli, and all X apps, but also in gnome-terminal/quake and all messages are shown properly (in swedish with ???) :D So, for swedish, i suggest we change the default to 'se-lat6' :) More information can be found at the following URL: http://bugs.frugalware.org/task/3741 You are receiving this message because you have requested it from the Flyspray bugtracking system.
