     Description of bug:

[When I run tse3play it gives this error and doesn't play anyting:
boobaa at falcon:~$ tse3play glazunov.mid
TSE3 error detected: Failed to create the MIDI scheduler
boobaa at falcon:~$ ]

How to (repeatably) reproduce the bug:

[Perform a clean build and install, then run tse3play with any midi
file. The above error occures.]

     Any other comments:

[The above glazunov.mid is a sample midi of rosegarden's, which can
be played with eg. timidity without any errors.]

Please attach the output of "cat /dev/sndstat" and "cat
/proc/asound/devices" below:

     [ 18: [0- 2]: digital audio playback
  25: [0- 1]: digital audio capture
  16: [0- 0]: digital audio playback
  24: [0- 0]: digital audio capture
   0: [0- 0]: ctl
  33: : timer
  40: [1- 0]: raw midi
  32: [1- 0]: ctl

I don't have /dev/sndstat, but our lead developer says in the ancient
times it was a symlink to /proc/asound/oss/sndstat (alsa oss emulation
comes to the scene), and cat /proc/asound/oss/sndstat says:

Sound Driver:3.8.1a-980706 (ALSA v1.0.9b emulation code)
