what about something like a messagebox asing "fund is not running, do
you want to start it now?"
fun already has support for starting a graphical application using
{g,k,}su{do,} - ie it can already start gfpm.

right. disabling fund is not a problem, it can be done using service
fund del. about disabling fun: you enabled knemo for kde by default
iirc. i disabled it once and it was never appeared again. so if you
enable it like knemo, it should not be a problem :)

it was a general question, if it can be done before 0.8 then that's even
better but not necessary.
