I think we should go ahead with the 0.7 artwork.

This one sounds ok too. I can make a splash for XFCE and GNOME using 
masta's SVGs and his logo.
Regarding the wallpaper, we could use the same 0.7 one or how about 
creating a wallpaper from masta's SVGs ?
