Building on the achievements of 2009, 2010 was a very successful year. Frugalware featured upgrades to the Linux kernel, GNOME desktop, KDE desktop, X.org and other major packages. Current developers and contributors continued their great work and we welcomed several new developers and contributors. 2011 is almost certain to be an exciting year, so let’s get started!
Merry Christmas to everyone in the Frugalware community. Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas as a Christian festival, it’s a good time to reflect on your achievements and plan for the year ahead. 2010 has been an interesting, exciting and productive year for Frugalware Linux. Events have included many new developers and contributors. Thankyou to everyone who has contributed to our success, including: developers, contributors, translators, artists, bloggers, those who reported bugs and everyone who participated in the mailing lists and forums.
Frugalware’s planet - the web site which aggregates content from blogs - has moved from planetplanet software to bilboplanet. There were some issues with planetplanet and, after discussion amongst the development team, the change was done by Frugalware developer Devil505.
The rules state that only posts which are likely to be of interest to Frugalware’s users are to be included, so if you subscribe you can enjoy reading about the laughter and tears, hopes and fears, successes and failures which make the community so exciting.
The Frugalware team would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. 2008 was a year of many major achievements, including new developers, new contributors, a GUI installer (fwife), more translations, and many new packages. We look forward to an equally successful 2009.
The Frugalware team would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. If you don’t celebrate Christmas, we hope you can enjoy the best of this time of year, while avoiding the worst. :)

I’m one of the fussy web-designers. I create a design, a few months later I think it’s rubbish. So I created a new design :) Feel free to drop your comments to the Frugalware-devel list.
In other news, ftp5 should be back in sync. Have a good day! ;)
